game theory
DEFINITION(S)
- mathematical theory modeling strategic interactions between a number of agents (individuals, organizations, robots, etc.), aimed at finding optimal behaviors, for example, in an attempt to explain or predict agent behavior. Notions of solution in game theory, notably the notion of Nash equilibrium, form the basis of economic theories, for example, and are an important part of what is known as micro-economics.
