TÉRMINO PREFERIDO
belief function
DEFINICIÓN
- a theory for representing uncertainty, introduced in 1976 by Glenn Shafer, which includes probability and possibility theories as special cases. Uncertainty is evaluated by two dual functions, the belief function and the plausibility function (whose value in an event "A" is the complement to 1 of the value of the belief function in the opposite event "not A"), which makes it possible to capture the incomplete nature of information.
