TÉRMINO PREFERIDO
Bayesian network
DEFINICIÓN
- graphical representation of a set of random variables (usually a probability distribution) that highlights the influences between these variables and exploits known conditional independencies between them, in order to simplify uncertainty propagation calculations. This type of graphical representation can be applied to other frameworks for modeling uncertainty. The adjective "Bayesian" comes from the name of an English reverend, Thomas Bayes (1702-1761), who in a posthumous article was the first to apply the formula of conditional probabilities to formalize inductive reasoning.
