- This term was used in the DIAMAS project. Within the ALMASI scope, it replaced by nonprofit open access publishing. The challenge here is how to regard self-publishing by an academic. Publishing by a person could relate to self-publishing by a scholar (e.g. sharing a document on Zenodo) or to a (small) scholarly journal fully run by a professor.
